El-Rufai: You are a Late-Comer!

We are shocked to read the aspersions the former FCT Minister, Nasiru el-Rufai was casting on the person of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor (President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN). At first, he tagged him a “mouthpiece of the ruling PDP” and again a “wayward person” (Blueprint, Friday, September 20, 2013, page 7).
We, as a body, will not be wasting time analyzing the areas both of them (Ayo and el-Rufai) have crossed themselves, but it is our duty to remind el-Rufai that Ayo is not only the president of CAN, but an ordained man of God. As CAN president, he was duly elected and his integrity was and is not in question. Those who voted him to represent and to speak for them found him worthy of the job. We are happy that el-Rufai recognized this when he ran a litany of past CAN presidents who were equally credible.
For el-Rufai to assume the position of a “backyard mouthpiece” of CAN smacks irresponsibility and idleness. Should there be any problem anywhere, it is the duty of those who elected Ayo as their president to say it, not an “el-Rufai”. And so, any unkind word to the person of CAN president, is directly an unkind word to CAN and all Christians who elected him. Same thing with leaders like the Sultan of Sokoto, Emirs and Imams; should we downplay their worth before the public, their subjects are equally affected.
In his words, “I am only against the WAYWARDNESS of the NATIONAL PRESIDENT of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), PASTOR Ayo Oritsejafor, and NOT THE ASSOCIATION or CHRISTIANS”. Tell us, who is Ayo, who are the Association members, and who are the Christians? This is nothing more than e-RufaiMATICS! Man of little stature, tell it to the birds!!!
But before then, a tonic for your achievements, e-Rufai. In the Bible, a prophet of God, Elijah, received insults from little children, who downplayed his office and rained insults on him. His reply was, “If I be a prophet…” Over to you, el-Rufai, if Ayo be a “Pastor” as you recognized, then ANATHEMA! This is to say that if he be a pastor, a man of God, as you recognized, may the God he serves visit you with anger according to the order of the insulting children. May all the evil deeds of yours, from childhood till now, darken your ways and expose you to ridicule. May God remember the position of his servant and pay you with the same coin. BUT, if you are right in your judgment of God’s servant, may these curses pass over you. Amen.
You also said, “He (Ayo) bears personal accountability for the conduct and utterances that portray him as a messenger of the powerful, or as an active soldier of the ruling party. Except for the informed, the casual observer may mistake Oritsejafor for a minor protocol official of government, so pathetically has he cheapened the erstwhile integrity of CAN presidency”. How smart! You have almost rubbished CAN as a body with your DIVIDE-AND-RULE sugar-coated words. Anyway, our people say that if a child speaks in the midst of elders, he quickly reveals his age. By your words, you only told the whole world that you are a late-comer (a chicken politician, who is just learning the rules). Those who do DIVIDE-AND-RULE are political experts, not new-comers. For your information, Christians are wiser than you think. Since CAN has never elected an imbecile as its president before, Oritsejafor is not one.
This is where you goofed. At the moment, the office of CAN spokesman is intact, there is NO VACANCY!!!
